The main purpose of this paper is to develop elementary mathematics teachinglearning programs for preservice elementary teachers. The elementary mathematics education program developed in this work is divided into two parts: One is the theory, the other is the practice. The theory deals with the foundations of mathematics, the objectives of mathematics education, the history of mathematics education in Korea, the psychology of mathematics learning, the theories of mathematics teaching and learning, and the methods of assessment. With respect to the practice, this study examines the background knowledge and activities of numbers and their operation, geometry, measurement, statistics and probability, pattern and function.

In this paper, we propose programs of geometry related courses for the department of mathematics education of teacher training universities. We suggest 4 courses, `Geometry Ⅰ`, `Geometry Ⅱ`, `Differential Geometry`, `Topology` as geometry related courses in Shin et. al.(2003). Among those 4 courses, we state desirable direction of curricula on 3 courses, `Geometry Ⅰ`, `Geometry Ⅱ`, `Differential Geometry` in this paper.

This paper considers learning and teaching of mathematical analysis in teachers college. It concentrates on showing a way how learning and teaching of mathematical analysis should be considered for mathematical teachers training. It is composed of five chapters including Chapter Ⅰ as an introduction and Chapter Ⅴ as a concluding remarks. Chapter Ⅱ deals with goal and contents of global mathematical analysis. The main Chapter, named Chapter Ⅲ, demonstrates exhibition of contents, way of operations, and contents of teaching and learning of mathematical real analysis. Chapter Ⅳ shows an example of learning and teaching of mathematical real analysis concerning to fixed points and approximate solutions.

Because statistical concepts are important parts in school mathematics, mathematics teachers have trained by special education model. In this study, a desirable direction of curriculum on probability and statistics at preservice for mathematics teacher is considered. We proposed four subjects as Exploration and Analysis of Data for Mathematics Teacher, Probability and Statistics Ⅰ, Ⅱ for Mathematics Teacher and Statistical Software for Mathematics, and suggested the constituents and something being kept, in mind for each subject.
